New project strengthens food safety and risk management

The Australian mushroom industry is set to benefit from a new initiative designed to strengthen food safety, improve risk management and provide growers with expert support as regulations, certification requirements and emerging risks continue to evolve.

The new Hort Innovation levy-funded Watch and Act for Mushroom Food Safety and Risk Management project (MU25003), delivered by the Australian Mushroom Growers' Association (AMGA) in collaboration with a team of technical experts, will provide a comprehensive framework to help the industry stay ahead of food safety challenges while maintaining the high standards that Australian consumers expect.
