Artificial intelligence (AI) is dominating conversations across agriculture, but for many growers the question remains: Where do I start?

Some practical answers emerged during the recent Soil Wealth ICP webinar, AI Unpacked: Practical Tools for Vegetable Growers.

While the webinar focused on vegetable production, its central messages have clear relevance for Australia's mushroom industry. Featuring researchers, technology specialists and growers already using AI in their businesses, the webinar demonstrated that AI is less about futuristic robots and more about using existing farm data to make better decisions.

That message is reinforced by the Australian Government's National AI Centre, which encourages businesses to view AI as a practical tool that delivers the greatest value when applied to real business challenges rather than simply adopting new technology for technology’s sake.
